Macarons

I don't know which is more cliche, me baking macarons or me baking "orange" macarons to join the rest of the Dutch in supporting Holland's team in the European Soccer Championship. The entire country had literally turned orange, the national colour of the country.
Holland lost 3 games in a row ending its' journey in this year's championship.

I suppose baking macarons is exactly like playing football. I will never know if  the outcome will turn out as I wanted it to be. I followed the recipe religiously and found out my macarons failed to "grow" any feet. I seriously do not know what went wrong.

I am not going to kick these away . I am going to savour
my lost and they still taste good although being footless and all.

I managed to score 4 good macarons with feet. Hence, I win some
and I lose some just like football....

Feeling so defeated I was determined to try again. Boy, was I glad I did?

Decide to kick it up a notch I decided to challenge myself with jadite looking macarons using matcha flavour.

I must say I prefer the macarons  without any other added flavour maintaining its' pure and simple flavour from the almond itself. Adding matcha powder to the macarons seems to kill the almond flavour in the macaron cookies. I think I will just stick to the original flavour in the cookie but be creative with the ganache flavour next time. Just like football or any other games, there will always be a next time.

    Have a nice day, regards.
